Ets Glock Mag Review - Although they manufacture magazines for a variety of firearms, Elite Tactical Systems is perhaps best known for the ETS Glock Mag Series. They make magazines for almost every type of Glock that takes one and all of them except the WM25 (which definitely pulses in the 40 watt range). Read and learn about the different types of ETS Glock magazines
In late September 2021, Elite Tactical Systems released a Gen II 32-round magazine for the Glock 18. This of course means they have released a magazine that will also fit the G17, G19, G19X, G26, G34 and G45.

And not just because of the +1 (it went from 31 round capacity to 32, see what we did there?) along with the increased capacity they changed the shape of the mag to make it more pistol compatible caliber carbines.

The geometry has also been updated, an improvement intended to increase feed reliability between different bullet types (including steel and aluminum casings). There's also a new base plate attached, which they assure us will "improve plate retention and eliminate possible separation at extreme impact".
The ETS Gen 2 Glock 18 9mm 32-round magazine features a durable, impact-resistant, advanced clear polymer body designed to provide superior strength and durability, and a quick, visual round count for increased reliability in the field. The floor plate is easily removed for quick disassembly, while the creep-resistant body maintains its shape during long-term storage, even when fully loaded. In addition, the magazine boasts a high-strength steel spring and an anti-tilt polymer follower for smooth, reliable feeding performance.
Another day, another Glock and another aftermarket company has popped up with Glock magazines. This is not a complaint, just an observation I think more mags and more Glock is better than less Glock and less mags Late series centerfire Glocks include the G43X and G48 single stack firearms. The latest mags on the way are the G48 and G43X ETS Mags
ETS has made its name by producing affordable magazines for various platforms They often offer extended magazine options for firearms that are not traditionally extended as options My G43X ETS magazines are just that, an extended magazine for a single stack concealed carry piece.

Today we talk about the G43X ETS magazine and why an extendo magazine makes sense for even the smallest handgun.
The G48 Slash G43X ETS magazines deliver 19 rounds of 9mm in a curious and attractive magazine design. At the top we find the single stack design we know and love from the G43X and G48 pistols as the magazine reaches the part where it extends from the grip. From there it becomes a traditional double stack
This single-stack-to-double-stack model is not unusual; Sig Sauer and Springfield Armory fit that many rounds in their compact magazines. It's a little unlikely to apply the same thing to an extender, but we know it's effective
From tip to butt, the G43X magazine measures 6 and 3/4s inches The magazine itself and extends 7/8 inches below The design allows for nearly doubling the capacity without doubling the length of the magazine ETS has the magazine with large skill design

As always, the magazines are made from an advanced polymer blend that resists cracking and breaking It is also resistant to chemicals and UV light Unlike Glock OEM magazines, ETS magazines do not have the inner layer of metal This usually means they are not magnetic not, so they will not work with NeoMag devices
That's the big question most of you have If you plan on using the G48 and G43X ETS magazines for anything other than plunking, they need to be reliable and durable. I decided to find out how much abuse one can take
First I unloaded it - dropped it from shoulder height to the ground on various surfaces This includes hard limestone soil, sand and concrete blocks I let it slip out of the gun and dropped it on its side and into the feed lip
From there I loaded the G43X ETS magazine with 19 rounds of brass case 9mm and repeated the test with a loaded magazine. I remember the first generation Glock ETS magazines would eject a ton if they didn't have all the rounds when thrown.

Fortunately, this problem appears to have been resolved with newer generations of ETS magazines, including the GTS and G43X ETS magazines. I dropped it on its side, bottom and end, and only one round would come out when the fully loaded mag hit the deck.
After unloading it, opening it up in the sand, and generally beating the hell out of it, I realized that the dong thing was cycling without a problem. I pushed it into the G43X, held my breath and proceeded to squeeze the trigger as hard as I could.
Cycled every round without a single problem magazine-feed, then decided to start the whole stability test again I dropped it, loaded it and then dropped it again By this time enough sand had forced itself into the magazine that spinning it around, and I could feel the friction as I drove the gun inside.
Follower Ground, and admitted that I felt more resistance when I loaded it However, it loaded 19 rounds without it, and I emptied it one more time 18 out of 19 rounds without food, ejection and ejection The 19th slide did not have high enough raised to hold it

I gave the magazine a healthy slap, slapped on the follower and fired the last round and fed him.
My durability testing is a bit crude and not necessarily realistic, but it proves that the magazine can take some abuse and still perform well. Like most things, it cannot eat a healthy diet of sand and limestone and be expected to function
I removed the magazine and washed it thoroughly with water to clean the sand and dry it Unlike Glock OEM magazines separation is not a problem in any way After I cleaned and dried it I ran it with 19 rounds loaded and one last string thrown. Like the Middle East oil sands, it escaped unscathed after being released
Here is a big question What is the practical purpose of an extension like this G43X ETS magazine? There are many reasons for the distribution Number one it's America so if I want it I have to have it Second it's fun to shoot with Extendo None of these reasons are necessarily practical though

You don't need a practical reason to own a G48 or G43X ETS magazine, but I can give you a few. As always, more bullets are better than fewer bullets, especially when your firearm has functions beyond concealed carry. For some people, they have a gun that pulls double duty from concealed carry, home defense, and beyond.
In the home defense role, the 19-round G43X ETS magazine offers plenty of rounds for defensive purposes. The more guns you have, the better for home defense It's not impossible to pack a reload when something goes bump in the night and a 19 round magazine gives you good firepower.
Outside of home defense, the G43X packs a punch for extended magazine trips like the ETS magazine. A long road trip will leave you packing your G43X with its standard 10 round magazine, but having a wider option for emergencies is far from crazy. When you spend the night in the hotel and therefore the 19 round magazine unlocks your defensive capabilities
The G48 and G43X ETS magazines are a fantastic option to supplement your magazines with a few extra rounds. A few extra 9, or nearly double the OEM magazine capacity These magazines can take a healthy amount of abuse and keep clicking, but be aware that everything here may need a little TLC.

If you want to exercise your freedom, pack a few extra rounds for defensive purposes, or simply reduce the need to reload, the G43X ETS MagChip has you covered. Literally, they allow cover fire if needed
Have you ever noticed that gun people have strong opinions? Or does the sun rise in the east and set in the west?
On the one hand it's a big deal We need strong people in the gun community to stand up for us and do what's right Thanks to all the people who do You know who you are and we appreciate each one of you
On the other hand, a strong opinion can sometimes get in the way of seeing the whole of the situation, and we can develop tunnel vision, which does not allow us to see the whole picture. I'm not just talking about a self defense shooting situation where you need to look for additional threats The same principle applies to gear selection
